Assessments are completed by Dr Gavin Lobo using:

How the ADHD Assessment Process Works
Step 1: Initial Appointment
Book an appointment with Dr Gavin Lobo to discuss symptoms and concerns regarding possible ADHD.
If ADHD is suspected, the Registered Nurse will email the required questionnaires and forms.
Step 2: ADHD Questionnaires
Several standardised questionnaires are completed before assessment, including:
- ADHD life and history questionnaire
- Mood and anxiety screening questionnaires
- AUDIT-C alcohol screening questionnaire
- ASRS ADHD screening tool
- WURS childhood ADHD questionnaire
Step 3: Registered Nurse Screening Appointment
Once questionnaires are returned, a Registered Nurse screening appointment will be arranged.
This includes:
- Blood Pressure and heart rate
- Height and weight
- Mental State Examination
- Blood test form and required blood tests
- ECG for patients aged 45 years and over
- Additional safety checks if required
Step 4: Comprehensive ADHD Assessment
After questionnaires and blood tests are completed, you will meet with Dr Gavin Lobo for a comprehensive ADHD assessment.
This appointment includes:
Structured diagnostic interview
Review of symptoms and history
DSM-5 diagnostic assessment
Discussion of treatment options
Step 5: Follow-Up Review
If medication is prescribed, a review appointment is required 4 weeks after starting treatment for monitoring and ongoing management.

- - Completing questionnaires does not guarantee an ADHD diagnosis or medication
- - ADHD diagnosis is based on a full clinical assessment
- - Incomplete questionnaires or outstanding tests may delay assessment
- - Additional collateral history may be requested where appropriate
